Welcome to the South Shields & District Sea Angling Club...
The SS&DSAC has many members old and new of all ages, new members are always welcome. The club has excellent facilities boasting a refurbished clubhouse at the foot of South Shields pier, allowing our members to enjoy those home comforts.
We have regular meetings at the New Crown Hotel on the seafront where members can discuss those big catches or lost fish! We hold many competitions ranging from a Sunday monthly league to winter leagues and away leagues, we also hold a Christmas Fur & Feather competition which sees nearly full membership turning out for this annual occasion, but, not forgetting our Annual Open Shore Competition which is one of the oldest running Open competitions in the country with this year being our 61st Open shore Competition.
The SS&DSAC is also one of the oldest sea angling clubs in the country founded in 1937 the picture below is just one example of years gone by taken circa 1947…
